LTD STANDARD

B 5E

The B series instruments are in a way the flagship of the ESP-LTD sub-factory’s bass production. These instruments with a rather traditional design impress you at first glance with their very striking design, but you will be equally impressed by their sound, workmanship and playing comfort. Body and neck

This bass is constructed with a solid mahogany body, through which runs a five-piece maple and mahogany neck. The fingerboard is ebony. The gauge of the instrument is the standard 864 mm, there are 24 XJ-type frets, and the width of the zero fret is measured at 45 mm. The neck profile corresponds to the Extra Thin U, so it is a very comfortable and fast neck.

Sensors and electronics

The instrument is equipped with two humbucker-type pickups to which active electronics are attached. Both are made by ESP, the humbuckers are model SB-5, the active equalizer is type ABQ-3. It is a three-band model, so on the body we find potentiometers for adjusting treble, midrange and bass, and of course the Volume and Balance potentiometers. Thanks to these electronics, it’s no problem to set exactly the sound that suits you and that pushes through the band’s sound.

Hardware

The strings run through the ESP BB-605’s tailpiece, anchored through the body. On the other side, they go through a standard zero fret into the mechanics, which are also from ESP. This setup ensures great vibration transfer from the strings to the body, and therefore a solid tone and long sustain. Stability of tuning is a matter of course. The hardware is in black nickel-plated finish.
