ESP LTD B206 SM 6 String Electric Bass Guitar

The B series instruments are in a way the flagship of ESP-LTD bass production. At first glance, these instruments impress you with their very striking design, but you will be equally impressed with their sound, workmanship and playing comfort. This bass is constructed from a solid ash body with a maple top with distinctive grain, to which is bolted a five-piece maple and jatoba neck. The fingerboard is made of jatoba in the popular “roasted” finish. The instrument’s gauge is extended to 889 mm, there are 24 XJ-type frets, and the width of the zero fret is measured at 54 mm. The neck profile corresponds to the Thin U, so it is a very comfortable and fast neck.

The instrument is equipped with two humbucker type pickups to which active electronics are attached. Both are made by ESP, the humbuckers are model SB-6, the active equalizer is type ABQ-3. It is a three-band model, so on the body we find potentiometers for adjusting treble, midrange and bass, and of course the Volume and Balance potentiometers. Thanks to these electronics, it’s no problem to set up exactly the right sound that will easily push through the band’s sound.

The strings are anchored in an ESP DB-6 headstock with strings through the body, on the other side they go through a standard zero fret into the mechanics, which are also from ESP. This setup ensures great vibration transfer from the strings to the body, and therefore a solid tonal tone and long sustain. Stability of tuning is a matter of course. The hardware is in black nickel-plated finish.
